All identities welcome.

I do my best to provide culturally sensitive care and maintain cultural humility in my work with clients.

However, for some individuals having a provider whose life experiences reflect your own, or share similar identities, can feel most supportive. Therefore, I have compiled a list of additional resources that you may find helpful as you navigate your own mental health journey.

Inclusive Therapists

Inclusive Therapists centers around the needs of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and the LGBTQIA2S+ community. They work to ensure individuals with marginalized identities have access to therapists that are identity affirming and culturally responsive.

Psychology Today

Psychology Today now offers a setting to search for BIPOC providers in Chicago.

If you do choose to schedule sessions with me, please note that I take an intersectional and anti-oppressive approach to therapy.

Intersectionality refers to the simultaneous experience of social categories such as race, gender, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation and the ways in which these categories interact to create systems of oppression, domination, and discrimination. This ensures that all aspects of your social identity (race, gender, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation, etc.) that influence your experience of the world are considered when providing you with the most effective care. It also provides insight into how these pieces of your identity influence systems of oppression, domination and discrimination.

If you are interested in exploring the ways in which your own privilege plays a role in systemic oppression, and ways to break this cycle, I provide a nonjudgmental and supportive space to process your own influence in societal power dynamics. Examining your internalized prejudice can be a vulnerable experience, but its influential impact on personal growth outweighs the discomfort.
